Biblical Truths

The Bible is a collection of psychological metaphors for living a life that is full of joy, love, peace, and abundance. This article contains my favourite Bible quotes about various subjects.

 

It doesn’t matter if you believe in God, a God, or no God at all. These are timeless Truths that will guide you through tough times and good times.


Neville Goddard said "Your world is at it is because of your consciousness." Let this article sink in and serve as your guiding light.


More contemporary spiritual guides and voices, such as Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Oprah Winfrey, Gabrielle Bernstein, and many others, borrowed many of their insights from Neville Goddard. He simply wrote about Truth, usually using The Bible as a parable or metaphor for the human psyche and the Hero’s Journey that we all must undertake. The Bible is a prolific source of psychological concepts.


Biblical Truth

 

Neville Goddard was a modern Master who wrote on the true meaning of the Bible as non-secular history, not historicity (authentic history), and rather simply as parables teaching humanity about the human psyche and the psychological pathway to spiritual awakening and true salvation. His essential teaching was that one's imagination and awareness is God, that we are all God incarnated as human BEings, re-awakening to our God consciousness through the Christ (the power and wisdom of God) within us. He wrote “Claim it; it will respond.” He also stated that “Your world is at is because of your consciousness."

 

Emmet Fox wrote in his book 'The Sermon on the Mount', with the subheading 'The key to success in life', that “It seems that human nature is very prone to believe what it wants to believe, rather than to incur the labour of really searching the Scriptures with an open mind.” He continued in the same book that “A general summing up, such as this, is highly characteristic of the old Oriental mode of approach to a religious and philosophical teaching, and it naturally recalls the Eight-fold Path of Buddhism, the Ten Commandments of Moses, and other such compact groupings of ideas. Jesus concerned himself exclusively with the teaching of general principles, and these general principles always had to do with mental states, for he knew that if one’s mental states are right, everything else must be right too, whereas, if these are wrong, nothing else can be right. Unlike the other great religious teachers, he gives us no detailed instructions about what we are to do or are not to do; he does not tell us either to eat or to drink, or to refrain from eating or drinking certain things; or to carry out various ritual observances at certain times and seasons. Indeed, the whole current of his teaching is anti-ritualistic anti-formalist.”


Jesus was a metaphysical human being who taught love, BEing, and that we create our world with our mental states. Fox reminds us that this is an active state where we claim it: BEing is a verb and must be claimed: "But you must positively claim health, harmony, and True Place, if you really want those things.” Fox wrote “Nature always takes you at your own valuation. Believe that you are the child of God. Believe that you express Life, Truth, Love. Believe that Wisdom guides you. Believe that you are a special enterprise on the part of God - and what you really believe, that you will demonstrate. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is" (1 John 3:2). In 2 Timothy 3:16 it states "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness."

These verses remind us that we should make all our choices through love.


“Be watchful, stand firm in the Faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14


But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,” Galatians 5:22


"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:4-13


“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18 


These verses remind us that when we think with our Higher Power rather than our ego, we are limitless beings of infinite possibility.


“Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.'” Mark 10:27 


See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:129


But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33


“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2


“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13


“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31


"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." Ephesians 3:20


"He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the Earth.” Psalms 46:10


"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16


"Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." Joshua 1:8


Purpose

These verses remind us that when we find and follow our real purpose in life, we are unstoppable.


And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28


“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10


"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." Colossians 3:23


"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23


Trust the process

These verses remind us that God doesn’t play dice. Nothing happens by chance.


"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11


“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on Earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33


"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalms 23


“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10


“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9


Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9


"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or "What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." And He who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new."Revelation 21:4


Giving

These verses remind us that it is in giving that we receive.


“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put in your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38

 

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” 2 Corinthians 9:6


Be courageous

These verses remind us that we are protected from harm when we believe in our Higher Selves.


“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalms 23:4


“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” Psalms 23:5

 

This verse reminds us to be thankful in prayer.


“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6


These verses remind us that we may find peace in this world.


“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7


“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28


Higher Power

This verse reminds us that our way forward is through our Higher Power, the Christ in us.


“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” John 14:6


These verses remind us that through identifying with our Higher power we can become powerful creators.


“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17


“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7


“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36


Speak in such a way that others love to listen to you: Listen in such a way that others love to speak to you.


George Bernard Shaw wrote that “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” Are you ready to change your mind?
