Life is Only About Two Things: Acceptance and Service

What do I mean by that? The only way to find peace, joy, love, and abundance is through acceptance and service. The spiritual path is all about acceptance and service. A meaningful life is all about acceptance and service. If you can’t handle reality, you will be doing the same as everyone else – fighting reality. The ego always thinks that its right. So, what’s the alternative?
The essence of a spiritual life involves embracing both acceptance and service. Most of our suffering comes from resisting reality and trying to control life's outcomes. In truth, we have very little control over essential aspects of our lives. By accepting life as it unfolds, we free ourselves from unnecessary stress and anxiety. This acceptance is not passive; it leads to the ability to serve life in meaningful ways, bringing love, peace, and compassion into the world.

Life is all about acceptance and service
Accept life. You are not in control. You can’t control people, places, or events. You can’t fight the Universe. You are not in charge. You are not in control. You need to accept the ‘isness’ of the present moment. Your psyche, thoughts, and emotions are the sum of your learned experiences: This creates a psyche with preferences, likes and dislikes. You are the experiencer of the moments that are unfolding in front of you. You are the witness. Love your fate. As long as you think you are in charge, that you are the ‘doer’, you will be unhappy. Reality is the doer. You are the consciousness that is experiencing it. There is no right or wrong. Your preferences in your psyche are what are causing your unhappiness. Your views are just your views.
Have you noticed how impossible it is to make the world the way that you want in order to match your preferences, which are just the sum of your learned experiences? You are trying to get what you want and not get what you don’t want: You can’t. It’s not going to be that way. That’s the natural order of things. Things are what they are. There is nothing that your psyche can do about that. You can make yourself crazy, and be scared, neurotic, angry, and anxious. It’s because you think the way things should be the way that you want them to be. This is what screws you up. Accept that life is not going to be the way that you want it to be. It’s just supposed to be the way it is. It has nothing to do with you. Life is following its own laws. You still believe that what you think is always right. It’s what life programmed you to think. You simply can’t make the world the way you want it to be. This causes you to manipulate, lie, conjure, hustle, deny, or grind the world. You can’t fight reality. You don’t do things because you couldn’t handle them: That should not be a motive for doing something. A wise person practices acceptance instead.
Acceptance doesn’t mean that you are passive. Acceptance means that reality wins, and you are at peace with that. Reality is that which already happened. This is why you can’t change it. When something happens, you can either accept it or reject it. What good is it to reject what already happened? It’s denial. It’s resistance of reality. It causes you to suffer. The alternative is to accept the reality that took place as it has already happened. Everything that has already happened was exactly what was supposed to happen. The natural forces that caused those things to happen have history. And through the law of cause and effect they determine what happens – not you. You can’t change the things in your life that have already happened. You suffer because you didn’t like them. You are afraid of things and you have nightmares because of the past. The way out of suffering is acceptance. The alternative is to resist it and be unhappy. The fact is that you couldn’t handle it should not determine your life. Your past should not determine your life. What should determine your life – YOU in the here and now – your BEing.
You may say to your Self “My beginning position of having a meaningful life is to accept reality and I can handle reality.” Don’t do things because you couldn’t handle it and the rubbish that you stored in your psyche. If you accept it you can deal with it. Things can happen that can hurt you: It doesn’t make them right or wrong or good or bad. It just happened. If you accept reality, you can start to work with your Self and work with the event. If you resist it, and suppress it, and store it inside of you it will destroy your life. This is the truth of everything. You are literally letting the thing that hurt you the most guide your entire life. You need to honour and respect reality.
How do you work on accepting reality? Firstly, you let the world unfold in front of you (it’s going to unfold in front of you whether you like it or not). You then say to your Self "I can handle reality". There are things you can practice being ok with it. For example, if someone is driving too slowly in front of you, just accept it. Practice with this low hanging fruit. Love the moment in front of you. You are so unique. No one else will ever have your experience. Be excited with your whole day. The moment was made for you. You have to willing to let go of your ego so that you can respect reality.
Service
Are you willing to serve the moment? It means because you're not reacting, because you are not resisting, you will start to see things that you didn’t see before. These are things that you can do to raise the moment. You can bring love, peace, honour, respect, compassion to the world. It’s no longer about you; it’s about serving the moment. You can handle your response to reality. Your intuition will tell you what to do. You are an ambassador for your Higher Power.
Conclusion
Don’t carry the past inside of you. Don’t let your fearful ego run your life. So, accept then serve the moment in front of you. Love the moment in front of you and smile.
